Daily porter and Saturday janitorial for Premier High School's 13 Locations

Challenge
Premier High School's Edinburg CTE campus runs on a different rhythm than a traditional school. Students rotate between drone labs, welding bays, cosmetology suites, and college-prep classrooms throughout the day. The open-concept layout means restrooms, common areas, and the main glass entry stay in constant use from first bell to last bus.
Leadership needed a janitorial partner who could keep the building presentable during school hours without disrupting instruction, then reset the entire campus over the weekend so Monday starts fresh.
Approach
M&R built a two-shift model around the school's actual daily flow. A dedicated day porter handles the highest-touch zones in real time: restrooms get checked and restocked on a rolling schedule, the front entry stays spotless for parents and visitors arriving throughout the day, and the open-concept commons (the ones lined with college pennants and the "Game On for Hope" murals) get table-wipes and floor spot-checks between class transitions. On Saturday, the full crew comes in for the heavy work, with no students or staff to work around.
Felipe and Arturo treat the building the way the school's leadership does. The CTE pathway zones, the sports murals, the college-prep banners hanging from the high ceilings. All of it gets attention because all of it shapes how students experience the campus.

Solution
A weekday day porter, on-site during school hours, handling:
- Restroom checks and restocking on a rolling schedule
- Glass care for the main entry and interior doors
- Spot-mopping for the open-concept tile floors
- Table and surface wiping in shared commons and cafeteria
- Trash and high-touch surface refreshes
A Saturday janitorial team handling:
- Full restroom deep clean
- Floor mopping across all classrooms, halls, and labs
- High-surface dusting (extension-pole work for the banners, vents, and overhead fixtures the porter can't reach during the school day)
- CTE lab resets so Monday's pathway classes start clean
Results
What’s next
The two-shift schedule continues at the Edinburg campus as the school adds new CTE pathways and labs. M&R adjusts the scope as the building changes. Most recently, the drone certification lab folded into the routine the same week it opened.
Premier High's Edinburg campus is part of M&R's broader work with Texas education clients. The model is the same wherever it runs: on-site presence during the day for what students and staff see in real time, and a heavy reset on the weekend so every Monday starts the same way.
